Triple Tragidies in Japan

Following the tragedy of the massive earthquake and tsunami that hit the northeast coast of Honsu and the nuclear crisis at Fukushima, we wish to extend our deepest condolences and sympathy to the Government of Japan, members of braved families and the people of Japan. We are deeply shocked to witness such a big loss of lives and the properties.

We pray to the god for providing courage and strength to the families of victims to bear the unthinkable sufferings caused by this disaster!

We hope that Japan would overcome these tragedies.

NEA-JC Seminar 2007

Nepal Engineers’ Association Japan Chapter (NEA-JC) First Seminar on Current and Future Technology 2007

October 7, 2007

A briefly report of the recently concluded NEA-JC seminar

The seminar was held at Daito Lifelong Learning Center, Daito City, Osaka.

We received 10 papers in total. Among them, 8 were presented by their respective authors. The authors of two remaining papers informed us that they couldn’t attend the seminar due to some special reasons. We are thankful to all the presenters for their content rich and insightful papers and their nice styles of presentations. The discussions following each presentation were equally interesting and fruitful. Most of the presentations were centered on different problems in Nepal and ways to mitigate them. Presentations covered pollution problem of Kathmandu valley, flood and landslide problems in Nepal , road disasters in Nepal , status of living space for elderly in Nepal, communications networks research in Nepalese context, alternative research in solar cell technology and optical fiber technology.

It was really a great opportunity to learn from experts of such diverse fields. The last session was a round table discussion on ” NEA-JC: Past, Present and Future”. Many suggestions were obtained from the participants for strengthening NEA-JC and making its events even more successful in future. We are thankful to all of them.
