Nearly sixty Nepalese engineers have registered with the Nepal Engineers Association-Japan Chapter (NEA-JC) and around hundred other Nepalese are pursuing their study or working in Japan in wide variety of engineering disciplines such as environmental technology. Their valuable researches, professional experience, and technological knowledge gained either as a part of academic program or while fulfilling their professional responsibilities can be directly or indirectly beneficial to the Nepalese context. Sharing such findings and experiences with each other could be useful in understanding the current efforts and future directions to be followed for the professionalism development. To provide a platform for such activities, NEA-JC has been annually organizing a one-day workshop program on theme “Current and Future Technologies”. This year’s workshop will be held in Tokyo on November 08, 2009 (Sunday). Nepalese engineers as well as any individuals related to a technology field and residing in Japan are cordially invited to submit their research papers by October 15, 2009.

TOPICS

The papers to be presented in the workshop may cover (but not limited to) the following topics:

1. Academic research
2. Industrial work experience and outcome
3. Approaches and vision for technological development in Nepal
4. New or existing technologies useful for Nepalese context
5. Lessons learned from Japanese experience, etc.
